Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how January Street Studios (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Coryn Companion™ (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide the Service:

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from Google to create and secure your account. We do not receive your Google password.
• Content you create. The notes, voice transcriptions, handwriting, tasks, and related text you capture in the Service, so we can organize and display them back to you.
• Technical information. Basic operational data such as log and error information used to keep the Service running and secure.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• process your captures into summaries, tasks, and projects;
• sync your content to your own storage when you enable that feature;
• secure your account and prevent misuse; and
• communicate with you about the Service, including support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.

3. AI Processing

To organize your notes, the text you capture is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing into summaries, tasks, and suggested organization. This content is transmitted securely and is used only to return results to you. We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider does not train its models on data submitted through our account under its standard commercial terms.

4. How Your Information Is Stored

Your account and content are stored using our infrastructure provider (Supabase), with data isolated on a per-user basis so that only you (and the processing described above) can access your content. Information is encrypted in transit.

5. Google Account and Google Drive

We use Google Sign-In only to authenticate you. If you choose to enable Google Drive sync, the Service accesses only the files it creates on your behalf in your own Google Drive in order to back up your notes. We do not read, modify, or delete other files in your Drive. You can disconnect this access at any time in your Google Account settings.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service and only to the extent needed to do so — currently our AI provider (Anthropic), our infrastructure provider (Supabase), and Google (for sign-in and optional Drive sync). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service. We do not sell your data.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated content at any time by contacting us at the address below, and we will delete it except where we are required to retain it by law.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
