Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Coryn Companion™ (the “Service”), provided by January Street Studios (“we,” “us,” or “our”). “Coryn Companion” is a trademark of January Street Studios. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Coryn Companion is a personal productivity tool that captures your notes and uses automated processing to organize them into summaries, tasks, and projects. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

2. Accounts

You access the Service by signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

3. Your Content

You retain all rights to the notes and other content you create in the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you, including sending it to the third-party providers described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to use it.

4. AI-Generated Output

The Service uses automated and AI-based processing to generate summaries, tasks, schedules, and suggestions. This output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs, and it is not professional advice of any kind. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
• interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure; or
• reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the Service or its underlying providers.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google (sign-in and optional Drive sync), our AI provider, and our infrastructure provider. Your use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by January Street Studios and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our name, logos, or trademarks except as necessary to use the Service.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be preserved.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, January Street Studios will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive will survive.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. The Service is operated from the United States; if you access it from other jurisdictions, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.
